Involvement with NVMHF can look many different ways! We host in-person and virtual events, put out quarterly newsletters, and you can even volunteer your time and expertise on social media, grant writing, and fundraising projects.
The mission of the Northern Virginia Mental Health Foundation (NVMHF) is to provide support to individuals in our community who are seeking public mental health services on their journeys to wellness and recovery.
We are a funder of last resort for individuals with Serious Mental Illness. Applicants and Case managers have explored other funding avenues. We are positioned as their final option for direct relief.
Northern Virginia Mental Health Foundation, in partnership with Total Wines, hosts an annual wine-tasting soiree. 2022 event is postponed to 2023 unless otherwise noted.
We do a foundation and board fundraising campaign in alignment with Giving Tuesday.
Clare and dons
Join us for an annual in-person restaurant event at Clare and Dons in Falls Church, VA. The proceeds from specialty dishes and total purchases go directly to those in need in our community.
NVMHF, a volunteer-run organization, is concerned with gaps in mental health care and wellness support, serving the citizens of Fairfax County, and the cities of Fairfax and Falls Church, Virginia.
We are actively seeking volunteers with expertise in a number of areas. Some volunteers help out with pro-bono consulting projects that last from one to six months. Others help out in a variety of other ways, depending on their skillsets and interests. Please contact us if you are interested in volunteering your time to help out!

*Overhead costs are kept to a minimum in order to maximize the funding available to meet the treatment needs of the individuals served, specifically administrative expenses are just 5% of total expenses, and fundraising expenses are just 7% of total expenses. Funds are provided by generous individual and corporate donors via direct donations, Community Health Charities, Giving Tuesday, and DoMore24.
